You also should know that Satan's messenger's have been among God's children from their beginning: to pervert the word of God. These perversive messengers have continued through out the ages, and remain with us this day. Such perverseveness prevails in the volumes of nonscriptural appearances of angels, and spiritual beings. Some of these synchronisms have become the source of the false doctrines that are amongst us: dating back to ancient teachings of the Babylonians, Chaldeans, Persians and Greeks This being one of the main sources of the corruption of the use of the word "angels". It is such unscriptural teaching that the latter Day Saints were founded upon.

Any, and all appearance of angels, imagined or real, who bring any message other than that which Christ has brought is from Satan. It is for that reason that we are instructed, "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." In the word, as spoken to Jeremiah, we are told not to hearken to such prophets, nor diviners, nor dreamers, enchanters, nor to sorcerers, which speak unto us not according to the word of God. And Paul, speaking by the authority of God, warned that there are those who will teach some other gospel: which is not another; but that which will cause trouble, perverting the gospel of Christ. Saying, "Though we, or any angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you let him be accurse."

We are also taught, concerning the prophet which prophesiath peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, than shall the prophet be known, that the Lord hath truly sent him. We are also told, by the word of God, if any teach not the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the doctrine which is according to godliness; such is proud, knowing nothing, being one who dotes about questions and strife of words. That such comes from perverse disputings of corrupt minds, and is destitute of the truth. Such can have the form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof. And even though they are learning, they are never able to come to the knowledge of the truth, and will not endure sound doctrine. Such we are to beware of and avoid.

Let us be assured that everyone who says, Lord, Lord, is not of God. Therefore, we are warned, saying, There are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; who's end shall be according to their works.

There is a growing number of preachers, who call themselves Primitive Baptist, some of them being ordained by the Primitive Baptist, teaching that which is known as "Gospel Means" doctrine. It is a doctrine which varies little from that preached by those calling themselves Primitive Baptist and preach absolutism, which is pure fatalism.

The fact that some of these men have been excluded from the ranks of the P. B. within the last year should be ample warning of the growing danger; but I fear they are prevailing among the P. B. : For I am receiving more and more literature from those who call themselves P. B., advocating "gospel means." They, like many others, speak out against the doctrines of "free willism" but teach that only those believing the gospel are God's elect. This is a direct throw-back to the teachings of some of the reformers of the sixteenth century, which taught that those would not believe as they did, and follow their teachings, were condemned to an eternal hell.Yet, these also proclaiming that eternal life was by the grace of God. And some were known as great teachers of sovereign grace.

Beware these preachers, who teach gospel means, are in direct conflict of the true gospel, and the purpose thereof, and should be considered as false teachers.

Satan, the source of all false teaching, has been present with God's people from the creation. He is that which opposes truth, and is our adversary. He was there in the garden beguiling mother Eve with his false teaching. And he stood against Israel provoking David. It is written, that he was with the sons of God when they came to present themselves before the Lord. And he was seen with Joshua the high priest as he stood before the angel of the Lord. Thus, in the parable of the sower, he was there to take away that which they heard and received in their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. [By this parable alone we can understand that gospel means; salvation by and/or through the gospel, is not the securing of eternal life.] Satan works in many ways to take away the truth, and to deceive the children of God. Christ saw him as lighting falling from heaven, in his disciples that rejoiced because devils were subject to them, through his name.

And we read where he entered unto Judas, surnamed Iscariot, at the feast of the passover; causing Judas to go out and betray his Lord. He also filled Ananias' heart causing him to lie to the Holy Ghost.

Therefore, we are taught that he is able to transform himself into an angel of light; appearing to be a messenger of truth. We should not be ignorant of his devices of sending false prophets in sheep clothing, and those transforming themselves as apostles of Christ, and as ministers of righteousness. Their full purpose is to bring believers into bondage.

Let us, as instructed, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:; because many false prophets are gone out unto the world.

In Danger of Eternal Damnation

By Elder Hulan Bass

Matt. 12:31-32
Mark 3:28-29
Luke 12:10

Text: Mark 3:28-29 teaches that ... .he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

An Elect Child of God has never been in danger of such, even from the Eternal Covenant, through Legal Justification, Vital New-Birth Regeneration, and Final Glorification - Jew or Gentile.

If such Elect were in danger, then why does not the Scriptures warn The Elect against such blasphemy against The Holy Ghost? Not one verse is to be found warning The Elect against such. If there were such eternal danger, then The Scriptures, being a “thoroughly furnisher” (2nd Tim. 3:17), fails to warn The Elect not to commit such specific blasphemy.

Satan and his demon-angels, embracing all non-elect, can and do blaspheme The Holy Ghost. Define “Blasphemy” - The act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence for God; The Act of claiming the attributes of deity, Irreverence toward something considered sacred or inviolable -Webster.

Impious or profane speaking of God, or of sacred persons or things; The Act of claiming the attributes of God; In early Judaism, any irreverent act toward God, as cursing his name, later, the saying of the ineffable name of God; Any irreverent act or utterance; profanity - Funk and Wagnall

Strong’s #987 & #988 -greek--to vilify; to speak impiously; defame, rail on, revile or speak evil...

To blaspheme The Holy Ghost is to deny the very existence, divinity, sanctity, manifestation of, purpose, function and utility of The Holy Spirit, in both it's functions - 1. Creative, 2. Cultivative ...

Naturally speaking you cannot stand before a mirror and deny your existence. Spiritually speaking, you are endued with The Holy Spirit and cannot deny such. The Spirit cannot deny itself. The Elect that is Born-again of The Spirit cannot deny such ...

However, The Devil nor any of his followers, possess The Holy Spirit, therefore they can and do blaspheme such. See.- Acts 2:13 - “Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine’ The truth was they were filled with The Holy Ghost (V. 4), but these “Others” were blaspheming (denying) The Holy Spirit, by saying they were drunk on wine. Also, one of the strongest displays of “Blaspheming The H. G.” is to claim deity for yourself above God - See: Isaiah 14: 12-14

- Reference Lucifer; He claimed to exalt himself above God, even to be like the most High.

Finally, notice the condition of the wicked-dead in - John 8:43-47 - - “...Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it.. .ye are in very bad condition, can and do blaspheme The Holy Ghost...

The Born-again Elect, cannot sin from the heart - Holy Spirit -1st John 3:9. I admit the Pharisee did not believe that Jesus was The Christ, but that sin was forgivable -Matt 12:31. I also agree that the word “World” in - Matt. 12:32 is the Greek - Aion meaning “Age or Dispensation World.” However, the Pharisee Jew, and even the Gentile, both which constitutes most of The Elect (there were Elect Samaritans also), never blasphemed The Holy Ghost, or else the Bible would have warned such Elect!

In much kindness,
Hulan F. Bass (Elder)
